Suzuki recently unveiled the all-new generation Suzuki Swift at the Magyar Suzuki Corporation production facility at Esztergom, in Hungary.Suzuki Swift is one of Suzuki's best selling car ever launched.According to Susuki the new model Suzuki Swift has a lighter and stiffer bodyshell made of higher strength steel that increases the safety of the passengers to a great extent.
The all new Suzuki Swift comes with an over-all increase in Dimension starts with an increased wheelbase by 50mm to 2,380mm and the length increases to 3,850mm with an increment of about 90mm than the current one.The width of the new Swift is also increased about 5mm and height by 10mm.The new Swift also got a wider front with a 10mm increment and rear tracks increased by 5mm.
The New Model Suzuki Swift also gets a new petrol unit and a revised diesel engine.The new petrol unit includes a 1.2-liter petrol engine with Dual VVT (Variable intake and exhaust valve timing) produces a 94-horsepower at 6,000rpm and an improved peak torque of 118Nm (87 lb-ft) at 4,800rpm.
Fuel consumption of the new Suzuki Swift is also increased to about 20km/lt that is equal to 56.5mpg UK and 47.0mpg US with manual transmission, which is an increment of 0.8lt/100km or 7.8mpg UK from the previously used 1.3-liter petrol engine.An optional automatic transmission is also will be available with petrol engine.
The reworked 1.3-liter diesel engine produces 75HP with an improvement fuel consumption of 4.2lt/100km, equal to 67.3mpg UK and 56.0mpg US.The Emissions of both petrol and the diesel variant is also lowered in new Swift model.
According to unofficial information based on some leaked cell phone pics of Swift's interior the new model's dashboard and center console is much inspired by the Suzuki Kizashi sedan.Recent information also reveals that Suzuki is also planning a replacement for the Swift Sport model.
No official word about the launch of new model Swift in North America is made yet.Its been expected that the new Swift will hit Europe late in the summer.
